Where do I begin with the Tuition Waiver process?

Stage 1 - Explore

  • Visit the UNC System Program and Degree Finder to explore your options.
  • IMPORTANT! Each institution within the UNC System has the right to define tuition waiver policies and procedures unique to their campus. Unfortunately, some programs have elected NOT to accept tuition waivers. Contact your program of interest to ensure that they accept tuition waivers.

Stage 2 - Apply

  • If you need guidance on the college application process at UNC Charlotte, contact the Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Admissions offices.
    • If you are applying to UNC Charlotte, please contact the Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Admissions offices to see if you are eligible for any admission fees to be waived.
  • If you are interested in taking classes or earning a degree at one of the other schools in the UNC System, contact the school’s admissions office to follow their specific guidelines.
  • Submit an application to the university of your choice through their admissions process and be accepted.

Stage 3 - Schedule

  • Determine which courses you may wish to take each semester according to the tuition waiver use policy.
  • Meet with your manager to discuss your course schedule.  If the specific course(s) you plan to take has a class meeting time that conflicts with your work schedule, it is their discretion if you are able to flex your time.

Stage 4 - Enroll

  • After you have been accepted, register for course(s).

Stage 5 - Submit the Tuition Waiver

  • Submit a UNC Charlotte online Tuition Waiver application in ProcessMaker well before the Add/Drop deadline so that your manager has plenty of time to review and approve the waiver in time for it to be credited to your Student Account.
  • Be aware that Add/Drop deadlines are different at each enrolling institution.
