Why can't I view images in my Canvas quiz?

While taking a Canvas quiz, some images may not render.

  1. Use a recommended browser
    1. Google Chrome
    2. Firefox
    3. Safari

NOTE:  Safari 13.1 and later versions contain an update that may cause issues with downloading files, displaying images, and playing chat alerts in Canvas. Canvas engineers are currently working on a solution for this issue. Until then, you may avoid errors with files, images, and alerts by disabling cross-site tracking prevention in Safari when using Canvas. If disabling cross-site tracking doesn't resolve these issues, please try one of the other supported browsers

  2. Before taking the quiz:
    1. Make sure the browser is up to date
    2. Clear history, cache, and cookies
    3. Disable ad blocking software
    4. Temporarily turn off any anti-virus software and firewalls while you are taking the quiz
    5. Close all programs prior to starting the quiz
    6. Disconnect anything from you WIFI that isn’t needed, for example your phone, tablet, TV, Alexa, etc.
  3. if images are not still not displaying and there is still time left on the quiz:

    1. Close the quiz, DO NOT SUBMIT, and exit Canvas
    2. Log into Canvas using a different browser
    3. Access the quiz

NOTE:  It may be beneficial to make sure you have 2 browsers that are up to date, have cleared history, cache, and cookies and disabled ad blocking software before attempting the quiz

  4. If you are using Respondus LockDown Browser
    1. Ensure LockDown Browser is up to date
