How do I set up Pearson First Day content in Canvas?

If you are using the Pearson Revel product, you will continue to use the same setup that you are accustomed to. These directions apply only for Pearson First Day courses

  1. In your Canvas course, if necessary, add the Course Materials link
    1. Click the Settings link
    2. Select the Navigation tab
    3. Locate the Course Materials link
    4. Click the 3 dots icon and select Enable
    5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save
  2. In the left course navigation bar, click the Course Materials link
  3. Click Launch Courseware

  4. Click Authorize to enable the Barnes and Noble tool

  5. Log in using an existing Pearson account or create a new account. Click Sign In

  6. Click I Accept to acknowledge the End User License Agreement

  7. The account link confirmation page is displayed. Click Get Started to create quizzes and assignments

  8. Click Open MyLab & Mastering

  9. In the left navigation bar, scroll down and click Instructor Tools

  10. In the left navigation bar, click Assignment Manager
    Click Assignment Manager
  11. In the blue bar located across the middle of the page, click Create Assignment
  12. In the pop-up menu, choose the type of assignment you would like to create

  13. Follow the prompts to create the assignment
  14. Ensure that the Send grades for this assignment to the Canvas gradebook option is selected

  15. Follow the directions to finish creating the assignments
  16. Access the Canvas Assignments page. The assignments are listed. 
  17. Specify to sync grades 
    1. In the left course navigation bar, click the Course Materials link
    2. Click Launch Courseware
    3. Click the Grade Sync link

    4. In the Settings area, select On for the Automatic Grade Sync option
      Select On for the Automatic Grade Sync option
    5. In the Items to Sync dialog box, select OK
      Select OK
    6. In the Items to Sync area, select All to specify to sync all grades
    7. Click Sync Grades Now

  18. All grades will be synced to the Canvas Gradebook usually within 3 hours of students submitting quizzes and tests
