Document Redaction Using the Desktop Client
1. Login to the Perceptive Content desktop client. The Perceptive Content Toolbar should appear as shown below.

2. Select Documents, Workflow or Folders on the toolbar menu to open Perceptive Content Explorer for the location of the document.
3. Within the Perceptive Content Explorer window search for the document that requires redaction and double click it to open it in a Perceptive Content Viewer window.
4. After the document opens, if you do not see the Annotations menu on the top of the screen then right click on the gray bar at the top of the screen and select Annotations in the dropdown to enable it.


5. Click the
Redact icon on the Annotations menu. Your cursor will then look like the redaction icon and you can select a section of the document to highlight for redaction.
6. After all redactions for the document are complete, select File on the top left menu and then select Generate Redacted Document from the dropdown.

7. A Generate Redacted Document screen will appear as shown below:

8. If desired, select or update the application plan. If an application plan with linking is selected then login to the related system (e.g. Banner) and select the link icon
to update the document properties. If the application plan you chose does not allow linking or an application plan is not selected then manually update the document Properties and Custom Properties. If the document should be saved in workflow then check Send to workflow queue in the top right corner of the screen and select the desired queue.

9. Once document Properties and Custom Properties are appropriately updated, click OK to save the redacted version of the document.
10. Locate your revised document in the Perceptive Content Explorer window to verify that it saved as expected.
11. Once verified, locate the original version of the document in the Perceptive Content Explorer window search results, right click on the line item for the document and select Delete. If you do not have Delete as an option, please have a supervisor in your group complete this step for you.

Document Redaction Using the Browser Experience
1. Launch any internet browser and enter the URL imaging.charlotte.edu.
2. Click Login and when prompted, enter your NinerNet credentials.
3. The Home screen for Perceptive Content Experience will then appear.

4. Select Documents, Workflow or Folders on the Home screen to open Perceptive Content Explorer for the location of the document.
5. Search for the document and click to open it.
6. Click the Annotate Page icon in the top left corner of the screen and select Create Annotation, Redaction and then the desired redaction type.

7. The cursor will turn into a box. Click on the screen at the starting location of the desired redaction annotation and stretch across the content to be redacted.
8. Click the Save
icon to retain the annotation on the document.
