Can I use Amazon's AWS Educate for group projects and pool credits together?

INFO: Amazon is transitioning classroom features like group projects and pooled credits to AWS Academy on December 31, 2021.  Visit this FAQ to learn more about AWS Academy.

INFO: In order to ensure AWS Educate meets your needs and appropriate design considerations are taken into account, please consult with Justin Ashe, Support and Endpoint Solutions Manager, jlashe@charlotte.edu, in the Office of OneIT, prior to signing up for AWS Educate.

INFO: In some cases, Amazon is willing to work with faculty members and students to renew credits early. Please contact the IT Service Desk for information.

  1. AWS Educate can be used for group projects by using Classrooms.  Classrooms allow faculty to create simple, secure, no cost learning environments for students to leverage AWS on projects, assignments, and other classroom activities.  
  2. Go to Amazon's Education webpage
  3. Sign up for an account using this FAQ or sign in 
  4. Click Classrooms and Credits

  5. Select from pre-built Classrooms in our most in-demand topics. You may select up
    to three templates.
  6. Enter your classroom details such as a course description, numbers of students and
    request an allocation of AWS Promotional Credits for students.
  7. Upload a list of email addresses to invite students to join the Classroom.
  8. Please allow 3 to 4 business days for your Classroom request to be reviewed
