Poll Everywhere's "Attendance Management" tool features geolocation technology to help you verify that students completing your polls are physically present in your classroom.
DISCLAIMER: Use Poll Everywhere’s “Attendance Management” feature with caution, as it may not work reliably in some campus locations. If students are unable to check in due to geolocation issues, direct them to submit a help ticket to OneIT; these issues are often related to device settings and can be minimized by coordinating with OneIT and CTL before the semester begins.
View the Attendance Management User Guide for step-by-step directions on how to enable and set up Attendance Management for use with your on-campus courses.

To ensure a smooth implementation:
-
Add the Suggested Syllabus Policy on attendance (including the use of Attendance with Poll Everywhere) to your syllabus. See: https://legal.charlotte.edu/legal-topics/classroom-policies-and-practices/suggested-syllabus-policies-notices
-
Discuss the use of Poll Everywhere Attendance before using it with your course. Make sure to provide an alternate way for students to submit poll answers in the event that technical issues arise.
-
Administer a poll with Attendance Management enabled as a “practice test” so students learn how to properly register their location before taking a poll.
-
Share the Student Guides - Poll Everywhere web page with your course.
If you or your students have any questions, please Submit a Help Ticket to OneIT.
