Only meeting hosts can start or stop AI Companion through in-meeting controls. Attendees receive a notification but if they don't want Zoom AI Companion used, they need to notify the host directly; click off the notification won't do anything.
First, ensure that AI Companion is enabled in your Zoom settings:
- Log into the University’s Zoom web portal at zoom.charlotte.edu using your NinerNet credentials
- Click on Settings in the menu to the left
- Open the AI Companion tab
- Ensure that the Meeting Summary, AI Companion Questions, Smart Recording, and Whiteboard Content Generation features are enabled
> Any disabled features will need to be enabled before you will be able to use them in future meetings

During your meeting, turn on the AI Companion tools that you want to use:

- Click on AI Companion then Ask Meeting Questions in the meeting toolbar to enable In-Meeting Questions
- Click Start Summary to enable the meeting summary tool
