How do I embed images and videos in a Canvas Announcement?

Important Note: Images and videos embedded in Canvas Announcements do not appear in the Google Gmail notifications received by Canvas users. Only the text from the Announcement is visible in the Gmail notification.

Canvas users can view images and videos embedded in Canvas Announcements only within Canvas. Therefore, we recommend carefully considering the use of images and videos in Announcements. If these elements are critical to your message, it's best to embed them in a Canvas page and include a link to that page in your Announcement.
