Why is OneIT changing the way it manages NEW Windows computers starting April 2025?

OneIT is making two major changes this year starting in April 2025.

  1. Standard NinerNET Windows Computers: OneIT will start using Windows Azure Cloud Join. Azure Cloud Join provides enhanced security, simplified provisioning and management and more flexible deployment options. This will change your new computer setup process and allow you to set up and use Windows Hello. You may notice a few new setting changes as well.

Impact on generic accounts: As part of the ongoing transition of endpoints to Azure, the use of generic accounts will be significantly reduced in accordance with updated security protocols. Learn more about why the University is going away from the use of generic accounts.
