How does a department purchase an advanced license that integrates with more software for Google Gemini or Microsoft Copilot?

  • Google and Microsoft offer advanced licenses for Gemini and Copilot.
    • UNC Charlotte uses Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals. Advanced Gemini (AI Pro) integrates with all Google services including Gmail, Drive and Meets
    • Advanced Copilot (Copilot Pro) integrates with Microsoft 365 including Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • These advanced licenses are not free; monthly or annual subscriptions are available
  • The vendors do not provide a way for departments or individuals to purchase on their own; licenses would have to be purchased by OneIT. Since no additional funding has been secured and OneIT does not operate under a chargeback model, OneIT is unable to provide this service.
