Location and Overview
The Service Desk operates a convenient walk-up location in Atkins Library, Room 140C. You can visit this location for in-person technical support with university systems, software, and network connections.
Services Provided (What You Can Get Help With)
You can visit the Walk-Up location for assistance with these common issues:

Library loaner laptops: Assistance with getting started or logging in.

Networking: Connecting your devices to the campus wireless network or eduroam.

Accounts: Resolving issues with your NinerNET account, Duo 2-Factor Authentication, password resets, and account lockouts.

Systems: Navigating or troubleshooting campus systems like Canvas, Zoom, and the VPN.

Software Access: Accessing core campus applications like G Suite, Microsoft 365, Dropbox, Respondus & Respondus Monitor, Software Center (Windows), Self Service (Mac), and software.charlotte.edu.

Software Downloads: Receiving limited support for installing specific academic software applications (such as SPSS and SAS) on your personal computer.

Hardware: Logging onto university-owned computers, including library loaner laptops.
Services Not Provided (What You Cannot Get Help With)
The Walk-Up staff cannot assist you with the following items:

Hardware repairs or physical hardware problems on personal computers.

Virus and malware removal on personal computers.

Training or instruction on how to use specialized software.

Course-specific questions (please contact your professor).

Registration, billing, or transcript issues (please contact the Niner Central / Registrar's Office).

Best-Effort Support: Depending on your request, staff may provide "best-effort" troubleshooting to help connect your personal devices to a university service.
