How to add embed code to a page

Overview

When planning to add an embed code from a third-party service to your university-hosted WordPress site, please check with Web Services before making any purchases. All external HTML embeds must be reviewed and added by our team to ensure they meet accessibility and security standards.

Before You Begin

Review the list of pre-approved domains below. If your embed originates from one of those domains, you are ready to submit a request. If your vendor's domain is not on the list, your request will require an exception and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

How to Request an Embed

To have an embed added to your site, submit a ticket to Web Services and include the following information:

  • The complete embed code snippet you would like added to your page
  • The URL of the vendor's accessibility policy from their website
  • A brief description of the embed's purpose and the page URL(s) where it should appear

Once your ticket is received, Web Services will review the code snippet for accessibility and security. We will follow up with a determination and, if approved, add the embed to your site on your behalf.
