What can I do to prepare for Windows 10 end of life?

You only need to take action if your device is running Windows 10. Windows 10 will no longer be supported by the University after September 30, 2025.
  1. Determine if your device is running Windows 10.

  2. Update your device to Windows 11, if possible.

  3. If your device cannot support Windows 11, you will need to prepare any needed files for transfer to a new device that will be provided by your department.
    1. Use a portable hard drive or memory stick to store files and transfer them to a new device, or
    2. Move the needed files to your University-provided cloud storage, such as Google Drive or Dropbox.
    3. Contact your department to ensure they are aware that your device will need to be replaced.
