1. What are the rules for posting video or audio?
Webservices prefers videos be hosted on YouTube or other 3rd party video site and embedded into the page.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA requires alternatives for all time-based media:
-
Video: Must have accurate captions. (Do not rely on automatic captions without reviewing them; they must be complete and accurate).
-
Audio (Podcast/Speech): Must have a full, accurate text transcript available on the same page.
2. Are there accessibility checkers I can use in WordPress?
Our WordPress environment has a custom page checker that will notify you if there is a compliance issue. When you are logged in a red box will show with a list of items that need to be corrected. Site managers/editors CANNOT publish pages that are not in compliance. You can make them private or leave them unpublished until you fix the issue, but they cannot be made public.
