What You Need Before You Start

  • Access to your course in Canvas.

  • A secure, University-managed device or OneDrive folder for storage.

Steps to Complete the Task

  1. Log into your course and click the Grades link in the Course Navigation menu.

  2. Click the Export button in the top right corner.

  3. Select Export Current Gradebook View (or Export Entire Gradebook if you use grading periods).

  4. Wait for the University system to generate the file; it will download to your computer automatically.

Important Notes or Exceptions

  • Grading Policy: The CSV file includes a "Current Score" (ignores ungraded assignments) and a "Final Score" (counts unsubmitted assignments as zero). Verify which column matches your policy before proceeding.

  • Manual Entry: Use this file as a reference to manually enter final letter grades into Banner Self-Service by the Monday, May 11 deadline.

  • Security (FERPA): These files contain sensitive student data. Always save them to a secure, University-managed device or OneDrive folder. Delete copies from public or unencrypted drives immediately.
