Audience/Target Users
What You Need Before You Start
- An approved University generic or departmental Gmail account.
- Access to the account's primary NinerNET credentials managed via
ninernet.charlotte.edu.
- The physical mobile devices or hardware tokens of all primary staff members who require concurrent deployment access.
Steps to Complete the Task
Step 1: Access Shared Account Controls
- Open a completely clean Incognito or Private web browser session.
- Navigate directly to the NinerNET management dashboard at ninernet.charlotte.edu.
- Enter the unique login credentials belonging to the generic or departmental account profile.
- When the system initiates its default authentication sequence, select Other Options to halt the automated alert broadcast.
- Choose Manage Devices from the baseline option menu to access the core device environment.
Step 2: Enroll Multiple Co-User Devices
To avoid locking out team members, follow these steps sequentially for each staff device:
- Click + Add another device within the generic profile dashboard.
- Select Mobile phone and provide the specific cell number of the first co-user.
- Instruct that specific user to open the Duo Mobile application directly on their phone.
- Generate the environment QR code on your master management screen and have the co-user scan it using the add button (+) inside their application.
- Repeat this enrollment sequence step-by-step for all remaining team members who require administrative entry to the shared alias.
Important Notes or Exceptions
- Password Expiration Constraints: Passwords associated with generic university profiles are strictly governed by institutional policy and will expire automatically every 90 days.
- Security Exceptions: For security purposes, full-time Charlotte OneIT staff profiles and automated administrative service accounts are explicitly barred from generating self-service bypass validation tokens.
