Users with delegate account access can setup their primary email account to use a "send mail as..." using the following steps:
Step 1: Initiate Setup in Your Primary Inbox
-
Open your primary Gmail account on a computer.
-
Click the Settings (gear icon) in the top-right corner and click See all settings.
-
Select the Accounts and Import (or Accounts) tab.
-
Scroll to the "Send mail as" section and click Add another email address.
Step 2: Enter the Delegated Email Information
-
In the pop-up window, enter the name recipients should see when you email them from this address.
-
Enter the delegated email address in the email field.
-
Uncheck "Treat as an alias" (this ensures incoming replies go to the delegated account inbox rather than cluttering your primary inbox).
-
Click Next Step, then click Send Verification.
Step 3: Confirm Access
-
Switch to the delegated account by clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner of Gmail and selecting the delegated mailbox from the menu.
-
Look in the inbox for a verification email from Google.
-
Click the confirmation link inside that email (or copy the confirmation code and enter it into the setup window in your primary account).
Once verified, open a new Compose window in your primary Gmail account, click the From field, and select the delegated address from the dropdown list.
