Why am I getting an error message preventing my logon when trying to access Employee Self Service?

We are working to resolve a temporary logon error message that a small percentage of our University employee population is seeing when accessing Employee Self Service. Please follow the steps below to help us track and resolve this issue in a timely manner.

Employees may get an error message "Invalid username/password; Logon denied." when trying to access Employee Self Service.  This error occurs when a prior Single Sign On (SSO) session has timed out.  

  1. To resolve the error you will need to wait 30 minutes and then close all browser tabs and restart your PC.  Then, attempt to login to Employee Self Service
         a. Please help us track this issue by calling the IT Service Desk at 704-687-5500 or Submit A Ticket even if you are able to access Employee Self Service after restarting.
                   i. the error message you are seeing
                  ii. your employee ID # (800#) 
                 iii. your user ID (NinerNET ID) and
                 iv. include your full name,
  2. If you continue to get the error message after restarting your computer, please call the IT Service Desk at 704-687-5500 or Submit A Ticket including the information listed above in step 1a 

If you are getting a different error message such as "Logon denied. Please contact the system administrator.", "Security error, login not successful.", "Sorry, the server received an internal error. A problem occurred with the application. Please contact the system administrator:"

  1. Submit A Ticket to the IT Service Desk
         a. include your full name,
         b. your user ID (NinerNET ID) and
         c. your employee ID # (800#) 
         d, the error message you are seeing
  2. A OneIT support team member will take action to correct the access issue. You will be notified by email to try to login again.
