How can I protect a sheet/range in Google Sheets?

Open the Google Sheet where you want to protect a selection of the document
Go to
Data
>
Protected sheets and ranges...
Select the appropriate
Range
/
Sheet
option and then provide the required information and click
Set permissions
Unselect the person(s) you want to prevent from editing that protected sheet/range and click
Done
Note: you must share the document with others before you can prevent them from making changes to a specific part of the document
