What is the Computer Replacement Cycle

Office Computers Computer Labs
  1. University computers are replaced regularly as budgets allow.
  2. Typically, the primary computer for full-time faculty and staff members is replaced every 4 years depending on funding. Some divisions e.g. Academic Affairs and Business Affairs centrally manage this replacement. Other divisions e.g. Student Affairs and Athletics delegate the replacement responsibility to individual departments.
  3. Departments are usually responsible for providing computers for new and part-time faculty and staff as well as grad assistants and student employees.
  4. OneIT coordinates the replacement process.
  5. OneIT Enterprise Desktop Support images all new computers in preparation for deployment
  6. OneIT Enterprise Desktop Support teams schedule and deploy computers for all F/S who do not have unit/college-specific support staff
  7. OneIT Enterprise Desktop Support transfers new imaged computers to unit/college specific staff to schedule and deploy
