Why am I receiving training email notifications for an employee that is not my direct report?

The Learning and Development Portal supervisor assignments are automatically populated by Banner HR data.  If you are receiving training email notifications for an employee that is not your direct report, review the guidelines below and take the appropriate action if needed.

Supervisor/Manager Assignments per UNC Charlotte Academic Affairs and Human Resource guidelines are as follows:

Faculty 9 mth and 12 mth NinerTalent Hiring Action

Contact the Business Officer for your department/college and ask them to verify the supervisor for the position/employee.  If the supervisor assignment in Banner is incorrect, the Business Officer should make the necessary employee actions in NinerTalent to change the supervisor for the position. When the NinerTalent action is approved, Banner is updated.  Banner supervisor updates will be reflected in the Learning & Development Portal the following day. 

Faculty Temporary Supervisor is the department chair for the College/Division

Department Chair assignments for each college are maintained by Academic Affairs.  To request a change to a college department chair academicaffairs@charlotte.edu. Department Chair assignment changes are updated in Banner weekly each Thursday.  Banner supervisor updates will be reflected in the Learning & Development Portal the following day. 

SHRA Temp Staff NinerTalent Hiring Action Contact the Business Officer for your department/college and ask them to verify the supervisor for the position/employee.  If the supervisor assignment in Banner is incorrect, the Business Officer should make the necessary employee action in NinerTalent to change the supervisor for the position. When the NinerTalent action is approved, Banner is updated.  Banner supervisor updates will be reflected in the Learning & Development Portal the following day. 

SHRA Temp Hourly

Supervisor is the Web Time Entry Approver 

Contact the department admin or Business Officer - include the temp employee's name and 800# and request the admin submit a NinerWorks supersede request to change the Web Time Entry Approver.   

Only assignments initiated through NinerWorks can be superseded. If you need to change the WTE Approver for a FWS, Non-Student Temp, or Student Wage assignment that was submitted in the Banner ePAF system (prior to NinerWorks), it will be necessary to complete the request in the Banner Self Service ePAF system.  FAQ:  How do I change a Web Time Entry (WTE) approver?

SHRA Temp Salaried Supervisor is designated on the NinerWorks hiring action  Contact the department admin or Business Officer - include the SHRA temp's name and 800# and request the admin submit a NinerWorks supersede request to change the supervisor. 
EHRA & SHRA Perm Staff NinerTalent Hiring Action Contact the Business Officer for your department/college and ask them to verify the supervisor for the position/employee.  If the supervisor assignment in Banner is incorrect, the Business Officer should make the necessary employee action in NinerTalent to change the supervisor for the position. When the NinerTalent action is approved, Banner is updated.  Banner supervisor updates will be reflected in the Learning & Development Portal the following day. 
Post Doctoral PD-7 Form  Contact the Grad School; Aura Young, request the supervisor for the Post Doc be updated.  Supervisor is included on the PD-7 form.  When the PD-7 form is processed by HR, Banner is updated.  Banner supervisor updates will be reflected in the Learning & Development Portal the following day. 
Grad Assistant eGA / NinerWorks  Contact the department admin or initiator of the eGA/NinerWorks assignment.  The initiator can make the necessary employee actions in eGA / NinerWorks to correct the supervisor.  When the eGA/NinerWorks action is approved, Banner is updated.  Banner supervisor updates will be reflected in the Learning & Development Portal the following day.
Student Temp & Federal Work Study, Student Misc Supervisor is the Web Time Entry Approver 

Contact the department admin or Business Officer - include the temp employee's name and 800# and request the admin submit a NinerWorks supersede request to change the Web Time Entry Approver.

Learning and Organizational Development cannot make updates to supervisor information in the Learning & Development Portal.  Supervisor assignments originate in Banner & Banner is the UNC Charlotte system of record.
