How do I configure my browser to compose a message in Gmail if I click an email address (mailto:) link?

1. Go to gmail.charlotte.edu and sign in
2. Click on the browser handler icon on the right side of the address bar
   
3. Make sure Allow is selected, and click Done
   

1. Click Firefox's Open Menu in the upper right hand side of the browser
   
2. Click Options
3. Click on Applications on the left menu, and type "mailto" in the search box.
4. Click the drop-down Action menu, and select Use Gmail
   
5. Close the window

This only applies to links on the web not mailto links in files on your computer (e.g. .doc, .pdf etc.) If you are not in a web browser, the default email client on your computer will open up.
