How do I use the Screen Recording option when using Respondus Monitor?

 
  1. Enable the Screen Recording option on a per exam basis from the LockDown Browser & Respondus Monitor Dashboard. Follow the directions to create a quiz that uses Respondus Monitor and Screen Recording

  2. To view the recording after a student submits a quiz:
    1. In the left course navigation bar, click the LockDown Browser link
    2. For the quiz you want to view, click the down arrow to the left of the quiz name
    3. In the drop-down list, select Class Results

    4. Click the + sign to the left of the student whose recording you want to view

    5. The screen recording video for an exam session initially appears below the webcam video in the proctoring results

    6. Click the screen recording video to make it the primary, playback window. The rows of thumbnail images that appear below also switch to the screen recording view. Repeat this process to make the webcam video the primary focus again

      Additional Information:

      • Screen recording is only available for exams that use both LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor
      • Only students using Windows and Mac computers are able to use screen recording. The “beta” designation will be removed when screen recording is available for Chromebooks
      • There are currently no plans to offer screen recording for iPad users
      • Students won’t be able to access the exam if the screen recording option is enabled but the LockDown Browser version isn’t current
  3. If the screen recording is too small to view, download the video so you can expand the video player to full screen
