How do I make sure an email from a sender always goes into the Spam folder?

 
  • The university receives millions of "SPAM" emails daily. SPAM presents a significant security risk. Several systems are in place, including Google SPAM filters, to help identify SPAM.
  • Identifying whether or not an email is SPAM through Gmail only works for Gmail SPAM filtering system not all the systems.
  • To best ensure that email gets properly labeled as SPAM or not SPAM an delivered to the inbox, you should set up a filter.

You won't be able to set up a filter to send email messages to the spam folder but you can delete the messages. Follow the instructions below.

  1. Open the message you want to filter
  2. Click the More button, then Filter messages like these

  3. A Google Search window will open with the email address of the sender in the From field - click Create filter

  4. If the email is labeled SPAM and it shouldn't be
    1. In the filter box, check Never send it to Spam, then Create filter
      Select Never send it to spam
  5. If the email is in your Inbox but it is Spam, in the filter box, check the Delete It box.
