What is the IT Security Training and where can I complete it?

 
  • IT Security Training is designed to raise awareness about information security, good information security practices, and related university IT policies
  • The training is comprised of several modules, ranging from 1 to 5 minutes each, and will take about 15 minutes to complete
  • Videos can be viewed individually as time permits and closed captioning is available
  • At the end of each module, there is a brief two-question quiz that must be completed

Access via the Learning & Development Portal

IT Security Training for students, faculty and staff is located in the Learning & Development Portal.

  • Employees and students assigned this training should see it on the main Welcome dashboard under Your Action Items
  • Or employees and students logged into the Learning & Development Portal can use the Search box at the top right of the screen to locate the IT Security Training

To locate the training using Search, follow the instructions below:

  • Locate the Search box at the top right of the screen in the Learning & Development Portal.
  • Search Box
  • Enter IT Security Training 
  • Click on IT Security Training after the drop-down menu appears
  • Click on Open Curriculum

  • Read all introductory information in the large paragraph under the title “IT Security Training” 

  • Click Launch to open each module
