What changes happened with the switch to @charlotte.edu email addresses?

WHAT CHANGED
Send as address to @charlotte.edu for user and generic accounts

Messages sent to Google Groups from @charlotte.edu addresses will display differently in the recipient's inbox showing both the sender's name and group name:

Email signatures will need to be updated - see this FAQ

Email aliases will be in all lower case because mixed case addresses can create issues with email delivery

  • If you have an @uncc.edu alias that includes uppercase letters (Your.Alias@uncc.edu), the @charlotte.edu alias will be created in lowercase (your.alias@charlotte.edu)
  • Your default "send as" address will be in lowercase (your.alias@charlotte.edu)
WHAT DID NOT CHANGE
NinerNET usernames
Login to computers and Single Sign On systems will remain the same
NinerNET account activation process
Email addresses in systems may remain @uncc.edu (e.g. Banner)
