How do I put a call on hold or park a call using a Zoom Phone?

Tags zoomphone

Whether you are using the Zoom Phone application or a physical phone, there are two ways to put a caller on hold:

  • Traditional: When a caller is placed on Hold, only the person who put someone on hold can resume the call.
  • Shared Lines: When a caller is Parked, any person with access to that same shared line can resume the call using a 3-digit retrieval code.
    • Note: The call Park feature only works on YeaLink physical phones at this time.

Traditional: To place a caller on a traditional Hold:

  1. Select the Hold button from the call options in the Zoom application.
    • Or, from a physical phone, press the button under the Hold option on your physical Cisco phone's display.
  2. Resume the call when you are ready.

Shared Lines: To Park a caller so that someone else on your shared line can pick up the call:

Note: The call Park feature only works on YeaLink physical phones at this time.
  1. Select the Park button from the call options in the Zoom application.
    • Or, from a physical phone, press the button for the more option (...) and then press the button for the Park option on your physical Cisco phone's display.
  2. You will see a notification with the 3-digit retrieval code (preceded by *).
  3. The call will be parked and the caller will be placed on hold.
  4. Take note of the 3-digit retrieval code and send it to the phone user who will answer the parked call.

Shared Lines: To retrieve a Parked call:

  1. Select the shared line as your caller ID.
  2. Dial * followed by the 3-digit retrieval code and press the call button.
    1. For example if the retrieval code is 123, dial *123 and press the call button.
  3. You will be placed on the call with the caller.
