What if my purchasing card transaction is declined?

  1. These could be reasons why your transaction was declined; ask yourself: 
    1. Have you exceeded your purchasing card limits (i.e., per transaction, per day or monthly)? 
    2. Does your purchase fall under an unauthorized expense category but is an allowable expense? 

    If you can’t determine why your transaction is declined, contact the Purchasing Card Administrator for help resolving the issue. If the charge is an allowable expense and has been denied, the Purchasing Card Administrator may temporarily unblock the merchant category code (MCC) to accommodate the charge.
