How do I activate Duo on a new Phone when I have a different phone number?

If you have gotten a new phone with a different phone number, follow the below instructions to activate Duo.

  1. Download and install the Duo Mobile app BEFORE starting this process.
    ONLY SET UP DUO WITH THE MOBILE APP - do not use a computer for the authentication source (FaceID, Windows Hello or TouchID).
  2. Login to any Single Sign On system (Example: my.charlotte.eduninernet.charlotte.edu)
  3. After entering your NinerNET username and password, a Duo verified push will be automatically sent - click Need help?

  4. Click Activate Duo Mobile

  5. Click I got a new number

  6. Click Continue
    Click Continue
  7. You will need to verify before proceeding.  Because your previous number is no longer being used, click Bypass Code

    If you are unable to generate your own bypass code, you will need to contact the IT Service Desk
  9. Once verified, you will be able to add your current phone and new phone number as a Duo device
