Desktop Client Connection Profile Management Manual

The Perceptive Content desktop client requires a connection profile in order to direct your login to the correct server.  The production connection profile is typically added automatically when the desktop client is installed.

System Access Restrictions

The ability to view items and complete actions within Perceptive Content is restricted based on approved system security access.  An FAQ on requesting access updates is available hereQuestions regarding which security group(s) will provide the access needed can be submitted via a Help Ticket.

Creating or Modifying a Production Connection Profile

1. Double click on the Perceptive Content desktop client icon icon to open the Perceptive Content login screen.

2. In the top left corner of the login screen that appears, click the Connection Profiles button.

3. In the bottom left corner of the pop-out window that appears, select the Edit connection profiles button.

4. In the window that opens, if a production connection profile does not exist and you need to create one, select the Create button.  If a production connection profile already exists, click on the name in the list and then click the Modify button.

5. Update the values in the box that appears to match the example below and then click the OK button.

6. Click the OK button on the Connection Profiles window to confirm your update.

Creating or Modifying a Test Connection Profile

1. Double click on the Perceptive Content desktop client icon icon to open the Perceptive Content login screen.

2. In the top left corner of the login screen that appears, click the Connection Profiles button.

3. In the pop-out window that appears, select the Edit connection profiles button

4. In the window that opens, if a test connection profile does not exist and you need to create one, select the Create button.  If a test connection profile already exists, click on the name in the list and then click the Modify button.

5. Update the values in the box that appears to match the example below and then click the OK button.

6. Click the OK button on the Connection Profiles window to confirm your update.

Switching Between Connection Profiles

1. Double click on the Perceptive Content desktop client icon icon to open the Perceptive Content login screen.

2. Right click on the connection profile name in the center of the window that appears (Production in the example below) and then select the name of the connection profile that you wish to login with.

3. The login screen will then display the selected connection profile and you can proceed with login.
