System Access Restrictions
The ability to view items and complete actions within Perceptive Content is restricted based on approved system security access. An FAQ on requesting access updates is available here. Questions regarding which security group(s) will provide the access needed can be submitted via a Help Ticket.

Processing a Payroll Certification in Workflow
1. After the Principal Investigator completes their assigned certification task, an email notification will be received by Grants & Contracts Administration Specialists informing them that an item is ready for processing.
2. Launch the Perceptive Content desktop client and login by entering your NinerNet credentials and clicking the Connect button.
3. Navigate to the RED PCF Processing workflow queue within the RED Payroll Certification workflow view.

4. Click the + beside Cost Share: No and/or Cost Share: Yes to expand the view so that individual documents are listed.
5. Double click on a document to open it for review.
6. After completing your due diligence, click the Route Forward icon on the bottom menu to route the document forward in workflow. Make a selection based on your review and click the Route button.
a. Select Ready to Archive to archive the document if it requires no further action.
b. Select RED PCF Retry Certification to REPROCESS a NOT CERTIFIED document.
Note Regarding Reprocessing: A copy of the document will be sent to the Pre-Reviewer. After the copy is reviewed by the Pre-Reviewer and certified by the Principal Investigator, it will be routed to the RED PCF Processing queue. The original NOT CERTIFIED document will be archived.
c. To REPROCESS a CERTIFIED document, submit a Help Desk ticket.
Granting Access to a Principal Investigator
1. Use the guidance available in the Document Imaging Security Group Add/Remove Request Form Submission Manual to submit a system access request.
2. Select the Category RED and the Security Group RED PCF Approver as the access to be added.
Reassigning a Payroll Certification Principal Investigator Task
Specialists working in Grants & Contracts Administration can reassign another Principal Investigator to certify a Grant/Project by completing the following steps:
1. Launch the Perceptive Content desktop client and login by entering your NinerNet credentials and clicking the Connect button.
2. After you log in, proceed to the All Tasks view and select the filter called By Grants PCF Type - Assigned.

3. Locate the Grant/Project task where the Principal Investigator needs to be reassigned.
4. Right click on the row containing the Grant/Project task listing and select Reassign from the dropdown.

5. In the Reassign Task window that opens, click the Add Users button to assign a user.

6. In the Select Users window that appears, search for the user to assign using their last name, first name or NinerNet ID. Click the Add button and then click the OK button twice to confirm your selection.

7. The newly assigned Principal Investigator will receive a task approval email with a link to the Payroll Certification task.
Reviewing Task Comments
Specialists working in Grants & Contracts Administration can review comments that a Principal Investigator enters by completing the following steps:
1. Launch the Perceptive Content desktop client and login by entering your NinerNet credentials and clicking the Connect button.
2. After you log in, proceed to the RED Payroll Certification Workflow and select the RED PCF Processing workflow queue to view the items pending processing.
3. Click the + beside Cost Share: No and/or Cost Share: Yes to expand the view so that individual documents are listed.
4. Double click on a document to open it for review.
5. With the document open, click View on the top menu and then, if it is not already checked, select Tasks to activate the Tasks view.

6. A Tasks pane will display that includes any Comments added by the Principal Investigator.

Reviewing Excluded Earnings on Report Central
1. Go to reportcentral.charlotte.edu.

2. Click Departmental Financial/HR Reporting on the Portal menu. When prompted, enter your NinerNet credentials and click the button to Log In.
3. The Payroll Distribution Report will display.
4. Select Transaction Date and enter the date range for the fiscal year being certified, i.e. 2020/07/01 - 2021/06/30 for FY 2021.
5. Either enter the UNC Charlotte ID number for a specific individual or enter the Fund Number for the entire payroll list.
6. Uncheck Include Benefit Accounts.
7. Click the Submit button and the results will download in an Excel sheet.
8. The highlighted earnings codes below are excluded from the report. This may result in salaries on the report not matching the Grant Payroll Certification Form amounts. Please adjust amounts accordingly when reviewing project salaries.
Earnings Codes: The earnings codes can be found on the Detail tab of the Payroll Distribution report in the PAYROLL EARNINGS column.
