Student Educational Award Tax Workflow Processors Manual

Tax processing of Student Educational Awards within the RED Student Educational Awards workflow requires unique custom property updates and routing decisions.

System Access Restrictions

The ability to view items and complete actions within Perceptive Content is restricted based on approved system security access.  An FAQ on requesting access updates is available hereQuestions regarding which security group(s) will provide the access needed can be submitted via a Help Ticket.

Student Educational Award Submissions Routing to RED Tax Office Processing

Student Educational Award forms meeting the criteria outlined below route to RED Tax Office Processing to be reviewed by the Tax Office.

1. If an award is entered that does not require enrollment.

2. If an award is provided to a student who is not a U.S. citizen.

RED Tax Office Processing

1. Log in Perceptive Content and navigate to the RED Tax Office Processing queue within the RED Student Educational Awards workflow.

2. A list of items to be processed will display on the right side of the Perceptive Content Explorer window.  Double click on an item to be processed to open it.

3. Review the form details, document keys, custom properties and any attachments. 

4. Complete one of the actions below based on processing determination.

  • If the DPR needs to be denied complete the following steps:
    • Change the Student Award Status to "Denied".

    • Enter either "-" or your NinerNet ID into the Approved By custom property field.
    • Attach any supporting documentation.
    • Click the Route Forward icon, select Continue Processing and click the Route button.

  • If additional Tax review is needed, click the Route Forward icon, select RED Tax Office Review and click the Route button.

  • If the Student Award is ready for further processing complete the following steps:
    • Change the Student Award Status custom property to "Approved" or "Forwarded".
    • Enter either "-" or your NinerNet ID into the Approved By custom property field.

    • Attach any supporting documentation.
    • Click the Route Forward icon, select Continue Processing and click the Route button.

Error Routing Note: Failure to update the Student Award Status custom property to either "Approved" or "Forwarded" will result in the document routing to the RED Tax Office Error Queue.  Items that route to this queue will be routed back to RED Tax Office Processing for correction.
