What will happen if I go over my quota in Google?

If you exceed your storage limit quota, your Google Workspace will be impacted in the following ways:

• What you won't be able to do...
  • Upload new files or images to Google Drive.
  • Create new files in collaborative content creation apps like Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, and Jamboard.
  • Edit or copy files or submit forms owned by the user.  Both the user and others using the files.
  • Back up any photos and videos to Google Photos.
  • Record new meetings in Google Meet.
• What you will be able to do...
  • Sign into and access your Google Workspace for Education account.
  • View and download your files.
  • Send and receive emails.
• What you will need to do...
  • Clean out your Google Drive and Gmail space

  • Consider contacting the OneIT Service desk to request a consultation (ex. if you need to request a departmental shared drive)
    • The Office of OneIT cannot increase your quota or clean up Google Drive and Gmail for you
