, Department Heads and Unit Directors are required to track pilferable equipment with an acquisition cost between $1,000 and $5,000, and are strongly encouraged to track pilferable equipment with an acquisition cost under $1,000.

for departments to use.
Annual attestation compliance check
: It is recommended that departments verify their pilferable equipment at least annually.
Internal Audit inspection protocols
: UNC Charlotte Internal Audit Department reserves the right to inspect each department’s assets, including pilferable assets, during periodic internal audits.
