What the standard life cycle for university computer devices?

  1. Lifecycle vary; here are general guidelines.

    1. For full time faculty and staff, the standard replacement life cycle is 4 years
    2. Computers older than 4 years are often passed down and made available to student workers, grad students etc.
    3. Once an older computer poses a security risk, it will need to be retired and replaced by the department.
