To submit your Form NC-4 NRA, Nonresident Alien Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, follow these steps:

  1. Nonresident aliens: If you are classified as a nonresident alien (NRA), you will submit a Form NC-4NRA, Nonresident Alien Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate. Depending on your country of tax residence and position, you may need to include an additional amount to withhold on lines 2 and 4.

  2. India: If you are from India, you do not need to include an additional amount on lines 2 and 4.

  3. Additional amount for nonresident aliens not from India 

    1. Graduate students, faculty or staff members: Add $25 to lines 2 and 4 of your form. You can either write or type this amount into your form.

    2. Undergraduate students: Add $23 to lines 2 and 4 of your form. You can either write or type this amount into your form.

  4. Submitting your form: Once you have updated your Form NC-4NRA, sign, date and upload the form to Documents Exchange in Sprintax Calculus.
