How do I "check-in" my location for Attendance with Poll Everywhere?

Instructors at UNC Charlotte may use the Attendance Management feature in Poll Everywhere to track student attendance for in-person courses through polling questions. This is accomplished by instructors setting up preset (geo)locations in Poll Everywhere for their physical classrooms.

If your instructor used this tool to track attendance, you will be asked to "check in to their preset location" before answering polls.

The following is an example of what that looks like:

Poll Everywhere dialog box requesting you check in to the preset classroom location

Follow the steps below to ensure you are "checked in" to your instructor's location and your attendance is marked present.

1. Click the blue "Check in" button

2. Your computer will prompt you to "Allow" pollev.com to know your location.  Make sure you check "Allow" - below are various examples of what this may look like on different mobile devices:
a. Enable location sharing on an Apple Macintosh (laptop)

Enable location sharing on Apple Computer

Important Note: We suggest selecting "Allow on every visit" to reduce response time to polls.

b. Enable location sharing on a PC (laptop)

Allow Poll Everywhere to know your location on a PC laptop

c. Enable location sharing on an Android phone

d. Enable location sharing on an iPhone/iPad

3. You will know your location is correctly identified when you see this message and the green check mark at the top of the page.
