When does a university computer need to be replaced?
When does a university computer need to be replaced?
Computer replacements for full time faculty and staff and teaching labs are typically replaced every 4 years pending divisional funding.
The exact process for each division varies; some divisions like Academic Affairs and Business Affairs, centrally manage the replacement. Other divisions like Student Affairs and Academic Affairs delegate the replacement out to departments.
Computer replacements for part time staff, student employees, grad assistants, researchers and research labs vary depending on department funding.
If a computer breaks and it is more than 4 years old, the department will be responsible for the replacement.
