How do I update my JAMF Mac settings?

Jamf is used by OneIT to manage university Mac computers. As part of the ongoing rebranding effort to charlotte.edu, Mac users need to update Jamf by mid-March 2025.

Shared Computers: Follow the instructions in this FAQ.
Mac OS Ventura: Upgrade the operating system to Sonoma or Sequioa. If Ventura can not be upgraded, follow the instructions in this FAQ.
Single-user computer: Follow this video or the instructions below

  1. Log into your university-issued Mac
  2. In the bottom toolbar, open Self Service
  3. In the Search box, type Charlotte Mac Enrollment. Click on Enroll.

  6. starting enrollment Allow a few minutes for Remote Management to appear.
  7. Choose Enroll.remote management
  8. Enter NinerNET username and password, click Enroll.
  9. authentication adminEnrollment will begin to install configurations.
  10. Once enrollment is complete, choose Quit to return to the desktop where additional configurations and settings will be applied in the background.enrollment complete
  11. Please be patient at the desktop while additional configurations and settings are installed. The desktop may blink a few times.
  12. A Secure Endpoint Service window will appear a few times, System Extension Blocked. Choose OK when this message appears.
  13. extension blockedAfter a few minutes this dialog box will appear. For shared devices there are 4 configurations to choose from. Enter the information to update the computer inventory. Choose Continue.

  15. After Jamf Connect installs, the application will sync the network and local passwords.
  16. Enter your full NinerNet email address (ex. jsmith@charlotte.edu) and NinerNET password.
  17. Your NinerNet password will be used to log into your Mac.
  18. Final configuration settings will install and the computer inventory will be updated.
  19. (Note – For Shared devices users don't have to log into the Jamf Connect App. When a user logs in at the login screen, their account will automatically sign into the Jamf Connect application)
