Jamf is used by OneIT to manage university Mac computers. As part of the ongoing rebranding effort to charlotte.edu, Mac users need to update Jamf by mid-March 2025.
Shared Computers: Follow the instructions in this FAQ.
Mac OS Ventura: Upgrade the operating system to Sonoma or Sequioa. If Ventura can not be upgraded, follow the instructions in this FAQ.
Single-user computer: Follow this video or the instructions below
- Log into your university-issued Mac
- In the bottom toolbar, open Self Service
- In the Search box, type Charlotte Mac Enrollment. Click on Enroll.
A dialog box will appear. Choose Next.
You will now enroll the device into the Jamf management system connected to charlotte.edu
Allow a few minutes for Remote Management to appear.
- Choose Enroll.

- Enter NinerNET username and password, click Enroll.
Enrollment will begin to install configurations.
- Once enrollment is complete, choose Quit to return to the desktop where additional configurations and settings will be applied in the background.

- Please be patient at the desktop while additional configurations and settings are installed. The desktop may blink a few times.
- A Secure Endpoint Service window will appear a few times, System Extension Blocked. Choose OK when this message appears.
After a few minutes this dialog box will appear. For shared devices there are 4 configurations to choose from. Enter the information to update the computer inventory. Choose Continue.

Another dialog box will appear.

- After Jamf Connect installs, the application will sync the network and local passwords.
- Enter your full NinerNet email address (ex. jsmith@charlotte.edu) and NinerNET password.
- Your NinerNet password will be used to log into your Mac.
- Final configuration settings will install and the computer inventory will be updated.
- (Note – For Shared devices users don't have to log into the Jamf Connect App. When a user logs in at the login screen, their account will automatically sign into the Jamf Connect application)
The completion window will appear once the enrollment process has completed.
