Word Transcribe is available through your University Microsoft 365 account.
To generate a transcript for an audio file using Word Transcribe:
- Log in to your University Microsoft 365 account
- Microsoft 365 can be accessed by going to office365.charlotte.edu and logging in with your @charlotte.edu credentials.
- The steps below will also work with the installed Word 365 software on your University computer.
- Open a new blank document in Word 365.
- Go to Home > Dictate in the Word menu bar.
- Click Dictate and select the Transcribe option.
- Select Upload Audio (supported file types: .wav, .mp4, .m4a, .mp3)

- Choose the audio file you need to transcribe.
- Keep the Transcribe pane open until the transcription is complete.
- The transcript will be automatically saved to your OneDrive account.
