How do I get a new networked printer setup for a department?

NOTE: Personal printers (not purchased with university/research/grant funds ) can not be used on the university network.

When your new networked printer arrives, please submit a ticket to the OneIT Service Desk.

  • For low and middle tier printers: the department will work with OneIT to get the device registered on the network. OneIT will need to know the Model, Serial Number, and MAC address of the device ( these can be obtained from your vendor before your installation date). See this FAQ

  • For upper tier MFPs, the department will need to request network registration and a fax line (if needed). See this FAQ

    • OneIT will work with the department and the vendor to coordinate the installation.

    • The vendor will be responsible for configuring the device; OneIT technicians will make sure customers can print to the device.
