Endpoint Transition to Azure – Generic Account Usage Policy
As part of the ongoing transition of endpoints to Azure, the use of generic accounts will be significantly reduced in accordance with updated security protocols. This change is aimed at enhancing overall system security and accountability.
All University faculty, staff, students, and other NinerNET account holders are required to log into shared workstations using their full UNC Charlotte email address.
NOTE: Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Existing accounts used to login into endpoints must be reviewed and approved from the Security team prior to use in the Azure environment.
- Any approved exceptions will be granted with time-limited access.
- Please submit a Generic Account Request - make sure to include use case information about how the generic account is used.
