Charlotte has partnered with Coursera to provide Students with access to over 650 high-quality program options. These programs are seamlessly integrated into Canvas courses.
The following instructions will guide you through the process of accessing a Coursera program in Canvas.
1. Log in to the Canvas course where your Coursera Program has been Assigned to you.
2. In the left-hand navigation menu - select Assignments
Note: Alternatively - your teacher may have placed the Assignment linking you to your Coursera program in a Module

3. Click on the Coursera Assignment

4. The Coursera log in page will open. You will need to set up your account (you will only need to do this the first time)
- Enter your NinerNET email address, making sure to use the format @charlotte.edu (Coursera *should* have auto populated your NinerNET email address)
- Create any password—you don’t need to remember it - once you click Continue, UNC Charlotte will sync your log-in with your NinerNet credentials for automatic access in the future

5. You will now have access to your Coursera program content. See example of a Coursera program below. Follow the direction to complete the Assignment.

6. Important Note About Assignments and Grades
Coursera connects to your Canvas course through an assignment link that appears in both the Assignments and Grades sections.
- The initial assignment (#1) is simply a gateway to Coursera. It may show as worth 100 points, but it does not count toward your grade.
- Within 24 hours of logging into Coursera, graded assignments (#2) will automatically appear in Canvas Grades.
See below:
- #1 is the link you click once to log into Coursera.
- #2 are the assignments imported from Coursera after login.

Grades Page Example
You can ignore the assignment marked with a red X—it won’t affect your grade. As you complete Coursera assignments, they will automatically appear in Canvas Grades (see green box with star).
