When logging into your NinerNet account, you will be prompted to verify your identity using Duo mobile. Sometimes, you may see a request for a Duo bypass code.

A Duo bypass code is a method of verification that bypasses the typical push notification or passcode. Unlike those methods, which rely on a user’s phone, a bypass code can usually only be generated by the OneIT service desk.
Why am I seeing this?

Usually, you will see this screen if you have enrolled in Duo during your NinerNet activation but did not complete your Duo setup.

You may also see this if you got a new phone and transferring Duo to your new device failed.
How can I get a bypass code?
Although Duo sometimes requests a bypass code, most users do not need one. Instead, you should contact the OneIT service desk to properly set up your Duo account. (If you visit our walk-up location, please bring a government issued photo ID to verify your identity.)
If you have a physical 49er ID card, you can generate a bypass code using the "Get Duo Code" page. Instructions for using this page can be found here. This will only work if you have a physical ID card.
