What can I do if my Windows 10 computer is locked on October 1?

The University is no longer supporting Windows 10 devices on campus networks after September 30, 2025. 

If your University device is still running Windows 10 after that time, it will lock and you will encounter an error message when attempting to log in.

  1. Contact the Service Desk for assistance with facilitating a temporary exception for campus network access.
  2. The Service Desk will enter a ticket for Desktop Support to review the computer for upgrade to Windows 11 or replacement.  The following will be needed:
    1. Computer Name (Hostname)
    2. Physical location of the computer
    3. Details as to how the computer is being used
  3. If is it is determined that the computer must retain it's current configuration, an exception request must be submitted.

    2. All requests will be reviewed by the Security team.
    3. Completion of the form does not guarantee that an exception will be granted.
