How do I search for documents in the imaging system using the desktop client?

  1. To get started, click the Perceptive Content client icon on your desktop
  2. While connected to the VPN, login using your NinerNET credentials and press the CONNECT button

  3. Once logged into the application, select Documents on the menu bar that appears and a screen will display VIEWS on the left side panel

    Available Views are based on group access within Perceptive Content.  Access can be requested via the Imaging Add / Remove Access Request form

  4. Select the appropriate document view name from the Views listing  

  5. Specify your search criteria
    1. One option is to use the Quick Search tab and perform the following functions:

      1. Select the appropriate item (e.g. ID, Type) from in the drop-down list
        NOTE:  There is a Name option that is actually a system-defined number associated with a document

      2. Change the operator parameter (i.e. how to search) from the drop-down list. Examples include starts with, contains, and is equal to

      3. Enter in the appropriate information in the text box area such as Requested For (format: Last name, First name, MI), UNC Charlotte ID, Type (i.e. document type)

      4. Click the Go Go button button. A list of documents meeting the criteria you entered will display, as shown below:

    2. Another option is to use the Search tab and perform the following functions:
      1. Click the Add icon Add icon to enter search criteria

      3. Select the appropriate Constrain by selection from the dropdown menu

      4. Select the appropriate Type from the dropdown menu

      5. Select the appropriate Field from the dropdown menu

        NOTE:  The fields are typically defined as follows: Field 1 = UNC Charlotte ID (800#); Field 2 = Vendor Name (Last Name, First Name, MI); Field 5 = Unique ID; Type = Document Type. Fields 3 and Fields 4 vary based on the document type.

      6. Select the appropriate Operator from the dropdown menu

      7. Select or enter the appropriate Value from the dropdown menu or text box

      8. Click the OK button
      9. Enter additional search critieria, as desiredsearch box
      10. Click the Go Go button button. A list of documents meeting the criteria you entered will display as shown below:list of documents
  6. To view a document, double click the desired line item

  7. Once the document is open, you can email, print, or export and save the document file locally, using these icons email, print, or export and save icons

  8. Press the Exit button to exit the document and return to the previous list

 

NOTE:  The My Document views will pre-populate without clicking the Go Button.

Document bicon indicates the document is being processed in workflow; otherwise, the document has been processed.

Hold icon indicates the document is on hold and the departmental specialists are awaiting additional information to process.
