How do I create Copilot Agents to help with common tasks?

Agents are specialized AI assistants you can build in Microsoft Copiolt for specific, common tasks. Agents can be trained with specific instructions and knowledge to become a more efficient assistant in performing particular tasks.

To get started with Agents in Copilot:

  1. Access your Copilot account

    • follow this FAQ to ensure you are accessing the University-provided data protected version of Copilot.

  1. Click Agents on the side panel

  1. Explore Agents: try a ‘Built by Microsoft’ agent. 

  1. To personalize an agent, click on Create Agent 

    • create your own agent by describing your agent to Copilot in the Describe tab, and it will draft the description, instructions and suggested prompts for you.  

    • or, select a template and adjust its instructions in the Configure tab. create agent

  2. You can customize any agent in the Configure tab and add features and up to 4 public websites for the agent’s knowledge.
