Students can practice using Respondus LockDown Browser before their first graded exam by accessing UNC Charlotte's practice courses. These courses allow students to familiarize themselves with the LockDown Browser interface, test their computer setup, and troubleshoot any technical issues in a low-stakes environment.
Practice Course Options
We offer two practice courses based on the quiz type your instructor is using:
For Classic Canvas Quizzes: 
Students can self-enroll in the Training - Test Respondus Canvas (Classic Quizzes) course to access sample quizzes and installation guidance.
For New Canvas Quizzes: 
Students can self-enroll in the Training - Test Respondus Canvas (New Quizzes) course to access sample quizzes and installation guidance.
Not sure which quiz type your instructor uses? Check with your instructor, or try the New Quizzes version first, as Canvas is transitioning to this newer quiz format.
What students can practice:
- Installing LockDown Browser on their device
- Launching the browser (automatic for New Quizzes, manual for Classic Quizzes)
- Navigating the secure browser environment
- Identifying and resolving common technical issues
