How do I access my H/S/J drives from off campus using a personal Windows computer?

Effective February 2025, H: drives will no longer be provisioned for new staff and faculty. New staff and faculty have access to Google Drive for cloud-based storage.

  1. Download and install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN
  2. Connect to the VPN

  3. Go to Start and click Computer Click Map Network Drive

  4. From the Drive drop down menu, select the corresponding drive letter (H:, J:, S:)

  5. Enter the correct folder location:

    1. For H: drive: Type in \\filer.uncc.edu\home\username (replace < username > with your NinerNET username)
    2. For J: and S: drive: Type in \\filer.uncc.edu\dept
    3. Check the Connect using different credentials checkbox

    4. Click Finish
    5. When the Enter network credentials windows comes up, type in unccharlotte-nt\username
      (replace < username > with your NinerNET username) and your NinerNET password
      Enter username and password
    6. Click OK
