How do I send myself Duo passcodes by SMS text message?

If your account was created after June 5, 2024, you will not have the SMS text option available and the steps below will not work for you. You will need to use the Duo Push or Passcode options.

Duo can text you a one-time use passcode that is valid for 1 day.

  1. Login to a Single Sign On system (my.charlotte.edu or gmail.uncc.edu)
  2. On the Duo authentication screen, click Other Options
    Duo Push - Other Options
  3. Click Text message passcode
  4. The passcodes will be texted to your device
  5. Type the passcodes into the field and click Log In
